I had this idea and put my camera on the super macro setting and was only 4" away from the lens. The camera was on a tripod on a trunk in front of the window, with the blinds creating the harsh shadows and highlights.

Not a great place, but not a bad score. Still- underrated. I love many of your latest shots, but don't get too dark-sided, Judy - I really enjoy your fluffy work as well. :)

looking thru my favs to see how they went in the b&w portrait and came to this one which i've never seen before ...
its just so incredibly dramatic ... such emotion .. dont know if you felt it while shooting, but i sure feel it while viewing!! ..
IMO its wot photography is all about ... not just the creation, but creating emotion in the person who sees it ...

Nice stark lighting, and I like the desaturated colours. Really adds to the haunted look in her face.

Wow, I just got done looking at all the entries, and I have to say that you had the best representation of this song. Brave to show yourself in an unflattering light such as this. Way to go Juju!

There could not be a better model for this title - perfect sort of emptiness in the eyes. Great job! Back to bump you up to 8.

strong image - not sure whether the stripes across the face hide too much detail.

this is very strong, I think a big part of it being so strong for me is the shadow on the upper lip and not on the bottom.

very well done

Interesting, I wish I were brave enough to stray away from conventional lighting every now and then ;)
