Beautiful environmental portrait. Definitely wall worthy, adn the fact that the horse is looking in the same direction adds to it as well. Very nice tones in the bw.

This has got to be one of the best cowboy and horse pictures I have ever seen. The cowboy is likable, genuine and relaxed and the horse seems to be posing nicely. Composition is wonderful. Love the log and different textures and lines of the different plants. The mountain and sky add that extra "wow". Great job on the black and white processing!

There's something (I think) unintentionally amusing about the horse: perhaps its just that the portrait part of the image is so - well, 'standard' would give the lie to it, but perhaps 'just as one would expect' is right; and then the horse, with its face turned toward us. There are strong leading lines that make the horse almost a stronger part of the composition than the man, and so we expect something from it.
01/14/2007 11:12:33 PM
You've managed practically perfect tonality and a very interesting composition here. Gotta love it.

Excellent B&W portrait! The only suggestion on improvement (IMHO) is this would have been a "10" if the straw grass on the right was not there to distract from the horse in the background.
