This is just plain great. How did you do this? The sprout is very interesting and the beans really set it apart, nice touch. 9 Swash

Suggestions:

Love the idea...actually had considered something very similar. A little detail is lost here though, on the sprouted bean.

Fantastic idea and so well executed too. How many days did it take to sprout? This looks more like about 9 days to me but, whatdahiknow. top 4 I really like it.

I'm sure you'll get comments like "the beans are too shiny" ;-) but I really like this shot. I start at the top of the sprout and my eye travels down the roots. I like the contrast of the green and brown too. 8

Great minds think alike? This was the very picture I had in mind to do, but I was away traveling all week and simply didn't have time. Only I wanted to use the more distinctly "Anasazi" beans. Traditional pintos were my second choice. The detail and texture of individual beans is great. no distracting shadows, and even the background is pretty clear. I might have cropped a bit differently to get the sprout a little lower, but I don't know what you had to work with in the original. I don't claim to be an expert, but I like this lots and don't think I could have done better, probably not even as well. This would be a good advertisement for a seed company.

Great Idea. Very nice composition. I like the background, its not busy, so it grabs your eyes to the focal point of the photo.

I really like this due to the fact that I can't figure out if it was staged to look that way, or if for some freak of nature, it ended up growing that way, and how did you find it if it naturally grew that way. Very clever and a great depiction of something new. Excelent job! Congrats and good luck.

Good photo. Subject is good and well presented. Focus and lighting are both good. My only issue is that the background seems a bit busy. I don't think that there's much you could do about it though. 7

Like I said to another contestant: "Can I swap eyes and artistic talent with you?"

The only thing I can suggest that may have complimented this picture anymore would be to have used a spot light to accentuate the green "bud" of the plant. It seems a little dark.
