My wife! What a trooper!
Hung a white sheet for the backdrop. Used four household lamps to light the shot. Took 30 or 40 shots getting the lights right, then started playing with expression and position. Finally got one I thought presented the idea I wanted.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Nice focus and a very nice job only focusing on the elements of the image. The use of the sheet was a very nice touch to prevent any sort of distractions in the background. I also see some sort of yellow hue to the image. I think increasing the skin tones was unnecessary for this capture. It look over-warmed as it is. I'd be really interested in seeing the original.

Lighting: I like the lighting you used here. You did a good job creating highlights and shadows that give a nice depth to the image.

Composition/Content: While I do not usually withhold points for borders, this one is far too distracting. You have great content for this challenge that is nicely composed. The border is far too strong for the tones inside the frame, thus it competes strongly for the eye's attention.

My Opinion: First-rate job meeting the challenge, but I'd be willing to bet the border and the hue/sat on the skin tones kept this one out of the 6 range.

I should know what it is she's eating, but my eyes are telling me it looks like something else.

Gotta go get a bag now...

I like the effort here. A small shift in color balance could do a great deal for this - less yellow - The colored border draws the eye to these colors too and i think it's just not appealing with the food for some reason.

The lighting looks to harsh on the face and on the hand. I also don't care for the heavy gold boarder. Definatly meets challange and I would not want to have to clean that up!!
