At the Two Oceans Aquarium Cape Town a newly born batch of rare Knysna estuarine Sea Horses are finding their "feet". This little fellow almost begged to be taken as he posed next to the window

This is a really cool picture, but how do we tell if its new? Is he new in your aquarium, a new baby ? Maybe a different title would help.

What a wonderful opportunity for a photo! And good work getting it so close and so colourful. This chap must be tiny!

Not knowing what a new "sea foal" looks like, I'm going to have to take your word on this. You did a fine job of getting him centered into the photo. The lighting is good, however the background is kind of bland. I understand that you couldn't just say "hey little sea foal, could you please come over here to this more pleasing background and hang out awhile?" So I wont let it bother me too much. However, I do have one question. What the heck is all that stuff floating around? It's kind of icky looking. Thanks for the opportunity to view the sea foal. He's a cutie. Good luck with the challenge.

Could be beautiful. Colors are right. DOF is right. Exposure seems right. ocus just a tad soft. Unfortunate glass scratches distract, however.

that is a scary little thing

I really like this photo! I know you couldn't control the scratches (or whatever) in the glass, but it is sooo distracting. The little buddy is about as clear as I have ever seen. There are a number of light reflections, as well. A couple could have been cropped out as they were near the edges, but you would still have several that couldn't be cut. (no down grade at all, this is more than hard to do.) 9 Swash

Dern good shot through the glass and he's looking right at the camera! Very good catch. Score -6 Kee

I love sea life, and this shows nice detail and good clarity, especially since it was probably taken through aquarium glass. I like the balance of color. I might have cropped it differently for balance, but of course I don't know what you had to work with for the original. I've had photos that could have been so much better if only I'd been able to crop just a little differently...

Interesting Photo. I don't know much about sea horses, but it looks "new" to me. Lightig is good. Focus is kind of interesting. Overall, a good shot.

Something new.
Composition - quite good
Technical Aspects - quite good. I assume this is behind glass.
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality – quite good

This is an interesting photo... The artistic impact is a little weak, however... :) - jmsetzler

Don't get why this is something new, well exposed though.

WOW!
This is mucho cool and great colour.
What are the two white circles at the top and one at the side? My score would be higher without them.
