If there is anything my Chef husband has taught me it is that - it's all about the presentation. Obviously a spoof of Hotpasta's "Morning Fast Breakers". I LOVE that shot. hotpasta ROCKS!

This is a piece of pumpkin pie with part of the pumpkin removed. The dirt (potting soil) adhered well to the outside. There are 24 fabulous Canadian night crawlers (from the WalMart bait fridge) in the bowl. They were spectacularly cooperative models and in exchange for their graciousness they are now roaming free - no fish hooks for you my little friends!

I hate the reflection on the fork but not enough to change the lighting on the rest of the shot. Changing the position of the fork didn't seem to make much difference. This is a very rare indoor shot for me. Special thanks to Tim for holding the reflector (white poster board and desk lamp) for me!!!

Boring details: Shot in RAW - RAW conversions. Elements-crop, minor cloning, dodging, selective color, hue/saturation, neat image, levels, blur, unsharp mask, save for web.

*********************************
Well, I'm afraid my placement might not have done Hotpasta proud this time. People seemed to want a full on assault by the worms instead of the teezer I was going for. Fingers crossed for a WORMS challenge! : )

On second look here, maybe a bite missing out of each, and some dirt on the fork ? Yuk!
Again, a finely lighted and arranged table.

This is great! I love the juxtaposition of the fine tableware and the dirt and worms! Nice work, and I commend you for setting the nightcrawlers free:)

This is just awesome, and this should have won a ribbon IMO.....
Not only is it a good idea but it is also so well taken.....
If I didn't know better, I think I would actually eat this.....
By the way, you were one of only a few, that got a "10" from me....

Great take on the challenge, a smart way to get a pretty image, and I bet that it was pretty good tasting as well. Lovely arrangement, nice DOF, gold fork, flower, and trim - beautiful and tasteful.

Pie looks delicious, where are the worms? or the dirt? Just add a small shovel of dirt on the table first.

yum...sharper focus on the worms would have boosted this higher. 6

OMG, on the nice china and everything ... ewwwwww!! I really hope that's just chocolate-something, but I can't find a harmless interpretation for the worms. Oh, and photographically, the only real flaw is that the entire piece of pie is not in sharp focus and probably should have been. 9, anyway, for thoroughly grossing me out.

What a great setup!! I wish the bowl of worms were more in focus, I wouldn't have known what it was if it weren't for your title.

I would love to have the worms :) (In focus). a little bit more of DOF would be essential to make this one of the best.

Maybe worms in the whipped cream or pie, and leave off the side would make it simpler and easier to digest. Still a good thought for the contest theme, and lighted well. I'm not quite sure about depth of field. The fork handle sharper would make it more appealing to me. The back elements seem to detract from the bolder graphic elements of the plate, fork, pie, and napkin. It looks like a lot of effort for the effect, and I appreciate that.

awesome food image...a creative idea...my only negative is that maybe you should have put a couple of worms next to the pie...awesome otherwise...I am going to give this a 10

Nicely taken food shot. Looks like dirt. :) I'm reserving high scores for grimy shots though. 6
