Challenge: After the Game (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: Francis Field
Date: Oct 21, 2006
Aperture: 13
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/640
Galleries: Sky
Date Uploaded: Oct 23, 2006

taken at the WashU field in the middle of the day, after a game.

Shot raw, duotone, brightness/contrast, levels, curves, etc.

My first idea was to try to get a shot of the moon between the uprights, but there was no moon visible during the challenge.

Nice idea, with illumination through the uprights. The upright bisects the image, a tighter crop might help along with perspective from further away?

I like the duotone you have chosen to use here. Very interesting and appealing image. I do think the lower right side is a bit muddy and lacks contrast, but that aside, it's still a good image for the challenge.

I love the blue here, and good job on not overexposing the sun so much that we lose the details of the goalpost.

I can tell by looking at it the game is long over and everyone has gone for good. Nice mood indeed... bump up to 8.

This does have a nice moody feel to it in the sky but the ground (and the scoreboard in particular) is a bit dark. I'm guessing you couldn't do much about that given the time of day and the editing rules. Overall a pleasing image: 6

This is a beautifully composed shot. Strong lines and good use of contrast. I like the way the highlights in the sky split the uprights.

Beautiful lighting. Did you use a blue filter?
