This seems like an awful lot of work for a 5.8...

The characters came from the actual movie paused on my TV. They were hard not to blow out. The brightness of the TV is set to 0. I then found a matrix screen saver online, eye droppered the green off of it and created a whole screen of the color to light me from below. I'm holding the laptop screen just below the frame.

A lot was done in PP for it being a basic challenge. Layers include Brightness/contrast, Selective color, levels, curves, hue/saturation, color balance. I also used the channel mixer to bring out the red layer in monochrome and faded it so as to bring down the characters a bit. USM was then liberally applied for the sci-fi look. border. BAM.

Yes, I have no hair now.

No, the glasses do not hook to my ears.

great photograph ... and cleverly executed.

a lot of comments about how you didn't deserve the low scores. i have to agree. 14 people gave 1 or 2 ... just goes to show you can't please them all.

personally, i like it. great effort and very original self portrait.

bravo!

I don't understand how anyone would rate this photo 1, 2, 3, OR 4! Great work!

I don't get it......why would someone vote 1 or 2 on this image? Surely, 1 or 2 should be reserved for gross image technical errors, not personal opinion as to the subject matter. I'd be interested in why peopls scored this so low. If I were voting at the time, I'd give it 7, 8 if you're head was not cropped out.

I gave this shot an '8' - and if I had to do it over again, I'd give it a 10. I really think this shot rocks!! Great color, composition, & theme. WTG!

I didn't vote on this one, but clearly we have some non sci-fi lovers out there that just can't appreciate the impact of this shot. I love it.

After challenge 10.

Wow, you were robbed - look at all these 1/2/3 votes... if I were SC, I'd investigate those.

I am blown away with the results of this challenge. Disappointed actually. The highest scorers in my opinion were way underrated. This is awesome.

For what it's worth, I thought this was a creative take on the challenge with ingenious execution and still do. Voted it a 9.

Weird: not a character I'd like to meet on my own on a dark night!
