I want to thank everybody for the many comments I received. I had the idea for this shot while I was taking a shower (doh!), 20 minutes before the challenge submission deadline. I took 7-8 photos, changing light, position of the hand and so on. It was funny because I was alone and had to start the timer, actually lock myself inside the shower box, remove the marks I used as a reference on the glass, position the hand - and then start over. :) The shot I submitted was taken with a neon lamp inside the shower box. The shower box itself provided the orange tone, which I subsequently enhanced because I liked the "alarmed" mood it gave to the picture. I tried also blue tones and b&w, but it didn't really work (imho).

This looks too pretty to denote a form of imprisonment. I share a claustrophobic fear but this doesn't capture it for me. The hand is too unstressed and gentle. Nice colours though outside of the challenge.

IMHO this should have been B/W.

Amazing shot and idea. Love the texture and colour. Great off-centre composition. It almost looks like a hand trying to break out of a giant orange :-)) Very well done.

Interesting with the orange tones, it serves to create a unified image IMO. I think I remember a similar shot in the nude challenge a while back, makes me wish I had that kind of shower to experiment with : ). nice work.

The shower!!!!!!! EEEEEEEKKKKK! This reminds me slightly of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, one of my favorite producers. If this was a curtain and in black and white it would have gotten a 10! Anyway, the shot itself is well cropped, and the lighting is just about perfect, if it was slightly more red or darker orange I would have given this a 9 or 10.

Definitely a nightmare. Well conceived.

I like it. Did you try it in blue? Could have given it a feeling of being cold and locked in a freezer. 7

I like the color of this. It's obviously a shower door, though, right? 7.

This is like a mime, but this person really IS locked in! Colors add to the sense of drama, and the off center hand creates some negative space that implies the rest of the scene.

I like this... Might have been interesting in different colors.. but orange works well too.

I love the composition here. The hand pressed against the glass is very effective where you have placed it in the bottom of the frame. The splayed fingers and fingertips pressed against the glass convey emotion well. good use of negative space.

So you're trapped inside an orange? Just kidding. Nice idea.

seems like there are a lot of "hand and glass" shots this challenge. this is by far the best. the orange color is wonderful.

I love this shot... although I'm not sure about your title. Is the viewer locked in, or something that could attack the viewer? Great vivid colours, interesting texture. Good composition. 8

The near monochrome gives this photo a dreamlike quality. The hand can also be percieved as a threat!

I do fine this image scary, but would be more so if the hand was holding a knife etc...
