I think I've seen one like that...good shot of reflective subject

Lighting could be improved, overall seems quite dark and flat. Probably needs more diffuse light to minimise reflections

I think a different perspective, like maybe closer and from the bottom, would really make this item stand out more. It's really cool looking, though, and you have lit it well to keep dominant shadows away and still show some details. Reflective surfaces are a bear. If you figure out how to do it with out glare, please, let me know. karmat

I have always liked old firehouse equipment. I can't tell if the darkness was on purpose or not. Nice subject choice.

underexposed

very static. i'd have much rather seen it shot close up.

the subject of this photo is just a bit too dark... the dark background doesn't offer much contrast for the subject. - jmsetzler

Try being a bit lower and coming round to the left a bit

I like your subject, but would have liked to have seen a more creative setup, and a little more light on the subject. lhall

Great choice of subject but it's very dark. I also think I would have zoomed in closer to pick up more of that wonderful detail.

boring.

An interesting subject, but the key lighting is too dim. Unfortunatly, if you brightened it you would blow out the highlights. Next time, a lighter color backdrop would soak up less light, and for a subject like this, you might put a gauze curtain in front of the light source to soften the light and hold down hot spots some.

i have one of those! might work better as a close-up somehow. the background is a little too boring

nice old extinguisher. I feel that it needs more light, you may have been trying to get it to look older, but the dark background would have helped even with more light. IMO! Autool

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject.
Composition - good
Technical Aspects - good. Needs more light
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality - good

The glare is distracting, as is the background. Better lighting would have really helped this stand out more.

Wish we could see more detail on the words...
