Playing with my new 30D outside in the rain. Had setup 2 500W halogen lights on my deck ... setup a vine to have water flow off of it and proceeded to shoot about 300 shots of rain as it dropped off the vine. Not my most favourite of the photoshoot ... but I thought this one was more along the lines of rain (as it's an acutual rain drop)

Very nice!! How long did it take for this? Too bad the drop couldn't be bigger to take up more space in the bottom half.

I like the interaction of the curly vine and the water drop. The vine has some color that could have been increased to add more interest. The leaf in the background, to me, is distracting. Everytime I follow the vine down, I end up being diverted to the vein in the leaf and led out of the frame. To get a higher score, learn to simplify, cut down the objects in the frame to the bare essentials and avoid things that could detract from what you want the viewer to see.

How long did you wait for that to fall.

I like how you caught it falling.

Nice idea. The focus is soft though and/or a little too much motion blur. I would love to see the drop in sharp focus. 6

For an impage lacking in "wow" from colours this works very well. The drop is nice and simple and the background is interesting but not distracting.
