At one of the kids' morning soccer game I walked the edge of the nearby field. Spotted this dew-drenced spider web and couldn't resist. Of course, I just "happened" to have my mini-tripod handy. ;^)

I kind of had this idea running thru my head after getting some similar shots on the edge of our own pasture a few days ago. For me, the complex web strands and water spheres represents a level of geometry unattainable by mortal humans. I'm babbling now... Anyway, looks like an image you might find on the cover of a geometry book.

BTW, the spider underneath was a bonus. Didn't actually see it until I was post-processing.

F2.8, 1/500, ISO 100, Tamron 90mm Macro lens, Manual focus mode.

Thanks Ray. Being a basic editing challenge I was a little limited. I did mess with color saturation some to try and get more emphasis on the spider but there is a fair amount of red (and yellow) already present in other areas (top left). When bumped those other areas became distracting and competed with the theme of the image. I almost kind of like the mystery it adds. ;^)

I dont think I would have caught the spider there without you mentioning it, but now that I see him he really helps make the pic. Good capture.

A String of Pearls for an Arachnid Babe...apparently that couple likes Big Band music as much as we do. :)

I wish more of the drops were in focus.

Great DOF...I think I would go without that white line in frame...it puts your blow of water drops too much in box. I wonder also if the b&w would look even better.

I like the photo/idea but it feels almost more "chemistry" than "goemetric"?

Cool photo...a spider web with drops? Very abstract...could almost be galaxies.

Very cool how the dewdrops make hundreds of different sized circles! Great work.

Great pic! Simply transpose it and you have the "leading Lines" challenge licked!

Interesting abstract image but I think the DOF is too shallow.
