Trying to duplicate the Noir style film making (Dark, erie). Nags Head Pier waiting for morning light, pier lights were on so I went for a night shot (using star filter).

=========================

Thanks to everyone for all the comments the feedback was great and very very helpful. I really need to watch my horizon line not just on this but many other shots. I have turned on my grid lines and will use them as the overwhelming feedback revolves around this issue. I am new to the form so thanks again for all the feedback.

P.S. - The stars are filter generated not photoshop.

The border is distracting, would have prefered a solid one

Nice image. the effect is decent... just doesn't hold enough for me. No wonder or amazement. Maybe without the lighging effect and upped levels/curves it would give a more dramatic feel.

Nice low key picture. Your horizon is tilted however and makes it feel a bit unbalanced.

The picture seems to be really tilted to the right.

Lovely shot. The way you captured the mist creates a wonderful emotional impact. I like the rays from the lights (hope they're legal). The only thing I would try to improve would be to straighten the horizon. Your subject isn't enhanced by the slant and it is one of my personal rants.

Not very level, would have done better if the sea was levelled up more.

looks tilted to me but very creative border and great star shapes from the light.

Your horizon line is way off from horizontal.

Great shot, i'm not a fan of showy borders and this image didn't anything at all should have been a plain white or black border or left alone

Decent photo, though I'd prefer the pier to be a bit more level. However, the border completely ruins it.

Good use of the star cross filter.
Image appears to be a touch soft for my tastes, and the border would have been more effective with a simple 10-15 white pixel border.

nice moody b/w, i like the light stars, maybe less negative like space in the foreground, but overall a nice shot!

crooked horizon needs to be straight, would of made this shot much stronger

personally, I would rather see the dock level instead of the shoreline.

My eyes went right to the border instead of the photo. I like the softness but it seems like the horizon is tilted.
