| I don't think this woman looks at rest at all. Doesn't have a darn thing to do with culture or anything else except that it didn't meet the challenge. I too gave it a low score. As stated by others my criteria first off is to see if the photo meets the challenge. If anyone could just submit what they wanted then we could just have open contests every couple of days and you could shoot what you wanted. |

Good framing and high technical quality. B&W and a solid white background works very well with this image. I gave it a 6.
The subject is both placed nicely and sitting. The subject is not moving. Perhaps there is cultural misinterpretation here, but this subject appears to me to emanate an inner aura of peace and confident calm that is difficult to capture in an image.
For me that means it meets the challenge. Apparently it does not for many others. That is to bad. This is a good shot and deserving of a much higher score. |
