Set up an evening shot so i could simulate the spray as mist for a ghostly effect with limited success. This camera has no manual controls but for what its worth, its pretty good at night shooting.

Thanks all for your encouraging and head swelling comments. The images in this challenge were so overwhelming and so many. Can't beleive i did so well & my 1st six.
I'll continue to push my "little cam that would" to the limit and also acquire as much knowledge about photography as i can from u all @ DPC.

Love the focus of the composition. The shipwreck is certainly a wonderful object of interest and focus. Love how the surf provides an 'errie mist' (the longer exposure really benefited this shot) for wreck and it complements the title very aptly. It makes the ship 'ghostly' and it really sets a mood for this being an errie scene to witness. And it is not just the surf 'mist' that helps set the mood of entering a supernatural world but the pale blues and purples hues. Now just as the long exposure time benefited the composition of the shot it also created a distracting element - namely those city lights that look like the shore off in the background is burning. My first thought is that you could have changed angle to avoid the majority of the light but then that would mean you would have to have taken this as a sraight on shot with us seeing the side profile of the ship. Here you have it at an angle where the front of the ship seems to be sailing right for us - this makes the shot more dynamic and interesting. So, the only other thing I can think of is to crop it closer to the back of the ship and maybe clone out some of those elements.

With 600+ photos in this challenge it's gonna be tough. The thumbnail version of your photo really caught my eye. I still like it a lot but I think it would have been better to have selected the ship itself and darkened it a tad more - especially the crane part. I love the blur of the water which does give it a ghostly appearence.

Scuttled on a sandy shoreline. The rusty subject would be hard to resist photographing.

Great "Ghostly" image but the lights on the left to me are a little distracting.

Truely breathtakung image here, and the title really sets the mood of the image.....
Love the rusty textures and the old skelton frame of a ship passed it use by date.
The softness of the misty seas and skies, also compliments the harshnesss of the old shilwreck......
One of my favorites in this challenge, that for sure.....

I don't like the lights in the background. It destroys the serenity of the image.

I would have thought a better angle would be without hte glowing lights of the city behind perhaps?
