Great sky and lighting in it. I like the sailboat silhouette but it almost diappears in all that sky. Very nice!

Beautiful sky. Can't ask for much more than that. Maybe crop horz. halfway up from the bottom to the boat. That's about the only thing I would try. It's very nice as is. Congrats.

Yikes! I think people who live in places that allow photo opportunities like this should go into the voting with a handicap :) JUST KIDDING! This is just about as awesome a photo as you could possibly get and I absolutely love it. It's the 2nd 10 I'm giving out so far, and I'm sure I'll see this one on the front page when voting is done! Congratulations on the perfect photo!

Is this really in the Artic?

Simply beautiful, one of my favourites. The colour and clarity are amazing. The sailboat is a wonderful addition and is placed perfectly in the frame.

Composition: 10 - Spot on :)
Technical: 6 - The sky is great, but the colour of the water doesn't quite work for me, especially the blue parts nearer the horizon. The darks parts should be darker in my opinion, using levels, as they're not quite black at the moment.
Creativity: 6 - I've seen lots of similar shots before but the unique cloud patterns and colours make it stand out above the rest :)
Appeal: 7 - Very nice photo to look at, with just a couple of minor flaws.

Overall Calculated Average Score: 6

Simple, clean and elegent presentation of this sunset. The sailboat is a wonderful touch to the composition. The colors and hues and wonderful. Only two critques on this photo. There seems to be too much of a yellow tone to the hue of the water such that the majority of the water is a aqua-gold color rather than the normally accepted color we think of what water should be. Most of that is due to the stunning colors of the sunset reflecting on the water but I wonder if hue of the water is is due to playing with the color levels to bring out the sky. It worked beautifully for the sky but it just doesn't look right for the water. If levels were not adjusted then mayhap playing with aperature and shutter speed would get a different color result where the water is a deeper hue. Second critique is that having the sun evident in the shot would move it out of the good category and into the excellent category. That may not have been possible, for mother nature does not always grace us with what we want for our shots but I wonder if the sun was visible before or after this shot that it could have been incorporated for it.
