I have always wanted to take a photo of this staircase. It's in an old Antebellum house in my hometown that used to be an Antique Shop and is now a Bed and Breakfast/Restaurant.

Natural lighting. Taken at midday.

Added comment:
I so wish that I could have desimplified the stuff on the table. I don't know the new owner very well, so thought it better not to ask. Just one of those things beyond mycontrol....

This is a special perspective in this shot. I have one very similar, shot with a Sony Handicam, in Macon. I was fortunate enough to have a southern belle in an antebellum dress drifting across the floor at the bottom, and no table. The belle helped a lot to put the elements into place about where the shot was taken.

A Beautiful shot, have you thought of cloning out the table just to see how this would look without it. Or try to go back and shoot again when the sun is at a different angle.

I think this is a great shot! I don't think the cluttered table detracts from it THAT much ... in fact, one could argue that it adds a sense of curiosity. "What IS on that table so much in the center of attention?" kind of thing.

Very pretty light on the staircase itself. Love the composition, reminds me of a snail shell. :o) My eye is drawn to the table at the foot of the stairs, which is a little blown and kind of cluttered.

This is very nice..you are right about the stuff on the table...it would be better if the table was not there.

I wish I could see the railings at the right and left sides of the photo but you may not have been able to get that high... ;-)

Glad you had something at the bottom for my eye to settle on once it got there, otherwise it would have really been boring.

Nice perspective. I find the clutter and the lamp on the table distracting...this picture would have been great if the table wasn't there. Still nicely done though.

There are many outstanding entries in this challenge but I picked yours as my favorite. The perspective is exceptional but the table at the bottom provides the focal point that makes a winner imho. Best of luck. 10

A classic subject re-edited. I realy like to see all the stairway. But it´s fine.

Gotta love the intersting lines of a spiral staircase. Overall well done. Some small points... I might have moved the table entirely ouf of this picture, the placement seems to interrupt the general flow of the staircase, and the clutter on the table is distracting. The lamp also creates an unwanted change in the overall lighting in one small spot, so distracts me. The lighting overall seems to be daylight, probably mid day, as it is quite harsh. In the evening using interior lights only might have been better, more warm and moody. The house seems warm so I think accentuating that would have looked quite good.

If not removing the table entirely, moving it to fit in with the curve a little more and moving most of the clutter, possibly leaving just the book and flowers.

This looks like it was probably shot at a wedding and that the guestbook table, with name cards, some candles and possibly some treats on there as well. I think less would have been more in this case, but it probably wasn't an option to go around moving things ;-)

This is nice. I like the warm tones. I wish the table only had the vase of roses, an oil lamp and maybe a slice of chocolate cake, with a short love note in letters large enough to read. :)

Excellent. It's too bad that the table is overexposed.

classical but nice, over-sharpened, i would say (or at least there's something wrong with straight lines that have a broken aspect)
