This is NOT a dandelion. It is some sort of plant but the seed puff is much larger than dandelions. Approx the size of a grown adult's fist.

would tickle though. Maybe less depth of field/ wider aperture would work to throw the background more out of focus ?

Yuck! What a terrible thought! But the photo is lovely. Looks soft enough touch. Perspective is good...bug's eye view. depth of field works well here. The only thng I don't like here is the distracting stem hovering behind the subject. A simple move to either side or a little lower and it could be eliminated. Outside of the challenge it can be taken care of easily with basic software. Sky color is good.

Nice macro shot. I think the background is a bit busy, it might have focused more attention on the subject if it were blured out by using your lens wide open.

I don't like how this picture resembles "The texture of nature", but I can't really count you off for it, so don't worry. The colors are nice and the focus is great, but I think I would have cropped some off the bottom.
Tip: I wouldn't actually wipe your nose with this, because a shirt works a lot better!

I give it an 8. good job

this is a nice image but the contrast is too weak to suit my tastes... I can't really think of a way to puch up the contrast in this image very well without placing a dark backdrop behind your subject.. = 7 - jmsetzler

Evil little things aren't they.

I really like the angle, but I would probably have isolated the target a little more by getting rid of a couple bystanders. 8 nards656

great depth of field and focus, try either cloning or cropping out the dead one on the right side

Good composition, good detail, good shot. Well done.

Should have clipped or bent the other stem out of the way.

Very beautiful!

You captured the soft texture here very well.

Was the dead one next to it left on purpose?

Find that thingy on the right distracting and also somewhat the spike above the main subject. Find the title a little odd as well but that's not important.

I would have liked this photo more if it was cropped tighter.

great crisp focus and shallow DOF. I bet this would tickle if you dare to wipe your nose with it... 7 beegee

you lose some of the effect because of background
07/22/2002 06:41:00 PM
very nice macro

This is one of the better shots of this type that I've seen, very good. My only nitpick would be to remove the dead stem at the right. Good job.

As many dandilion shots as I've taken..(and that's a lot, because when I'm bored..well...) this is by far the prettiest one I've seen. Loose the extra dead stem on the right and it would be perfect.

the stalk to the right is a bit distracting I'd have pushed it down or moved it to the side till I finished the shot, still a good pic, nice dof.

if u want to sneeze!

Suffering from pollen allergy, I would definetly NOT want to wipe my nose with this ;)
But looks pretty, gets an 8 from me

but it would make me sneeze
