ok...so, i'm short and this was just about eye level for me. :P

this is one of my favorite statues in the Natchez City Cemetery...it has the most unique engravings that i've ever seen.

I am guessong by your title there is a rose there, but to be honest I cant see it very well, I do like the idea of a monotone detail though.

beautiful work here.. I love the non literal view you chose for this composition. being able to 'see' the rest of this monument is not nearly as important to 'me' as what you chose to show here... excellent work..

Difficult to make out what we're seeing here. I presume there must be a rose involved, judging by your title. Highlights are burnt out. Picture seems very noisy. Why are there toes on the left? Very baffling shot... 3

I can almost feel the roughness of the surface with my fingers. I like your idea here, especially using a shallow DOF to bring out the foreground more.

Interesting. I would have shot from a different angle to make the foot less recognizable.

I like the close-up on the decay of the stone ... brings to mind the passage of time even for things we think of as having permanence and lasting memory.
