Agreeing with Karmat, I don't know how many people know what I meant by the Urban Chemist, but in short, it's a drug dealer. And in the village surrounding Washington Square Park, it's nothing short of a Chemist Shop. |

First, I don't really understand the title -- part of me wonders if this is where a bomb has gone off. If so, this picture may means something to the people in the area but it doesn't seem like there's anything in the shot to identify it to outsiders. I'd like to see something play a more dominant role in the photogrpah regardless. The lamps are cool -- and I think you might be able to do something cool with the trashcan. |

this is a very well done, crisp night shot. I think, though, I would have tried to frame it a little differently in relation to the street lamp. It seems to be leaning a little to the right to me, and having part of a light cropped out makes it look like an accident. Excellent commentary. Hope others know what a street chemist is. :-) |

Nicely done, I love the title as well. I'm not sure why you chose to tilt the shot though. 6-ClubJuggle |

no real focal point other than the trash can. |

Detail of the basket and its shadow looks most interesting - maybe with different composition, giving more emphasys to that detail would improve image. |

I like it... and I'd like it better if there wasn't so much empty pavement in the foreground... 5 sjgleah |

I like the lighting those big lights create but I hate to have to look at them. When I make it so that they are just out of the photo (just to the top of the sign on post) it helps me focus on the things in the photo, not just the lights. good job. cthenk |

Interesting concept. Isn't that the McDonald's statue from last week? (Just kidding!) Kinda tossed about the starring of the nearest street lights. It overwhelms the foreground a bit, but a star filter would have been too busy. 7 Swash |

great lighting, good composition. Needs more of a focal point, though. |

You should have changed your position slightly. That rubbish bin in the foreground isn't very attractive. |

I would like to see more detail other then the ground and trash can. 5 |

I would like to see a little more 'distinct' subject.. this photo leaves me wondering what the intention is... = 6 - jmsetzler |

Good use of light. I would have liked to have seen a major subject beanth them. Still OK. |

I think that wastebasket in the foreground adds something to the image. It would have been nice if the glare from the streetlamps wasn't there though. |
