Superb shot, great composition and viewpoint, intersting subject too. Love the lighting and sky tones. And 31st? My only criticism is perhaps the heavy border - I'd like to see the balance without it.

Dang. 31st? It was my favorite for the challenge. Proving once again that the voters aren't always right.

this has such wonderful contrasts--great mix of shades, patterns and textures.

People don't understand you see. Or perhaps, they don't see. Wonderful photography, and I'm no sentimentalist about JFK whatsoever. This is just how taking photos should be.

More information on what this is...

I wanted to capture a unique perspective on the John F. Kennedy Memorial in Dallas, Texas. To many times I see this shot straight on and it looses it's interest to me. This is a fantastic piece of art and I wanted to convey that with my images.

This is far too far back in the list, and what's worse I have to sell my camera and take up chess!

I was so shocked to see this on the forth page of results! Excellent image, one of my three top faves for this challenge.

I know the reference, but have never seen this. Maybe you can post a long-shot for context after the challenge.

An interesting abstract, not sure what the monument is (though not important i guess), I love the clouds. I don't particularly like the format or the border. The border IMO distracts from your image vs. enhances it.

I love the abstract quality this has, I thought maybe it had been inverted with that cool sky but the shadows say no. Great work, nicely picks up on the stone texture, and again that sky is great! Good luck - 9

Intriguing lines and very engaging abstract shapes and tones. It does communicate the loss felt then and now. I was a baby when it happened, but we all still feel the repurcussions, I think. 9

Now, finaly someone comes out with some quality negative space, that stands alone as a independent graphical element and enhances the main subjet at the same time.

Dang, I just can't figure this out. Maybe because 1963 is before I was born? : )

I don't know how you got that effect with one pillar tilting inwards and the one on the right being straight but it works! And how! The texture of the clouds in the background gives this that extra boost. The framing is spot on n'all. If this doesn't ribbon I'm selling my camera and taking up chess :-)

I can't really tell what this is...I'm assuming it has something to do with Kennedy??

On the right side, the vertical structure is approximately the same size as the large border and it's quite distracting. Using a smaller or no border may help. The rest of the image is nicely composed. Love the contrast of the shadows against the wall. The clouds are also very beautiful.

crisp abstraction of this combined with interesting sky makes for visually appealing image with nothing extraneous. evokes interesting emotions.

I love the contrast and the lines. Very cool shot. I'll take your word that it's a monument because I can't tell what the heck it is. 10

I have driven past this monument for all of my life, but I have never seen it the way it was captured here. Great lines, the sky is wonderful. Good Luck.
