CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Awesome shot. I'm not sure I can tell you anyway to improve it, so I'll just tell what i like about it. the composition is really strong to me, I think because it forms sort of a triangle between the lamp, paper and hand. At first, I thought the lamp was a touch overexposed, but upon looking at it more, I like it like that because the brightness of the lamp and the relative darkness of the paper, though it is so close to the lamp, really gives a feeling of past times. Great subject idea, and one that I, as well as others, I'm sure, can really relate to.

Hey, thank you all!! I thought this wasn't over until tonight, so here I was going to check my score to see how the pict was doing, and I see it front page. It's been a strange Summer :)

| The date and the choice of pen are a nice touch. Not sure if the pen really would have looked just that way or not (looks a little too crisp to me, but I don't know pens through history), but the feel of it is just right. This is great. |

| Wonderful. As this loaded from top to bottom, I was thinking "What kind of pen is he writing with" when the full photo loaded, I was pleased to see. You put some thought into this shot, and I think that it shows. Focus and clarity are just awesome. Really nice job. The angle and framing/cropping are perfect in my opinion. Nice tones, and the lamp adds to the shot as well. One of my favorites so far. ~Heather~ |
