I spent way too much time into this and got no where near to the photo I had in mind. I got the idea from a book, I'll submit something better next time.

Very Creative photo. I like the background color.

very clever. i wonder what a different color bg would have looked like. something not so overpowering.

Great idea -- were you ever able to get one touching both sides of the clamp?

Creative and interesting - and different. Nice work.

I like the background, clean and contrasting. Very good exposure and nice sharp focus. Also a very creative shot, not mainstream. How hard was it to get the bubble on there? I would give an extra point if the top of the clamp were holding the bubble ;-)

I remember once I tried this exact picture. Except that my head was in the clamp...and my friend tightened it...at least my facial expressions looked real!
Purely joking-9 for creativity

I don't understand this.

Clever and original. Very well thought out

Good idea. The hand should be more in image or out of it. In this way its role is undefined.

i love the concept and implementation, totally cool. i do wonder though why you chose the bright red background, i'm not sure what color i would've picked, but something a little more subtle would've worked better IMO. in my top 10 this week. -- gr8photos (9)

neat shot great choice of a contrasting color that makes the bubble more there.
07/17/2002 02:09:00 PM
That's cool. The bright pink (sortof pink, anyway) sets up a nice contrast with the vice. At first, I thought you needed to leave the hands out of it, but I think that it gives some "motion" to the picture that ordinarily wouldn't be there. karmat

Good choice of background color! Goes well with the silver and the hand. Nice humorous subject. Well framed.

nice.

You have quite an imagination. I am wondering where ideas like this come from! Neat, and executed well.
07/17/2002 04:24:00 AM
although i think the picture could use a little work technically, the subject is just fantastic!
07/17/2002 01:08:00 AM
funny!

I dont know how you got that bubble on the vise. I find the background color a little distracting.
07/16/2002 04:05:00 PM
Great idea, shame its not quite sharp enough, great composition though.
07/16/2002 02:05:00 PM
really original idea and a nice shot to.

got a smile from me... Strong image, but could have been better if you had the clamp more closed ?
07/16/2002 08:52:00 AM
Interesting idea. The clamp doesn't even seem to be resting on the fingers which seems weird. I think more directional light would have improved the photograph and brought out some texture in the clamp. Just by scrolling down, I actually prefer the photo without the hand and the crank of the clamp...it makes a more pleasing composition with just the C and the bubble, I think.
07/15/2002 07:39:00 PM
very cool
07/15/2002 04:38:00 PM
Not too sure about the red background
07/15/2002 03:55:00 PM
Good luck:) Nicely done entry. Good exposure and sharpness. The background works well.
07/15/2002 03:54:00 PM
Very creative shot, sorry you weren't a bit closer. Over all good job. Kee
07/15/2002 03:17:00 PM
ok so how's the vise suspended? It's obviously NOT being held by the hand...and Photoshop manipulations are against the rules.

good fun otherwise
07/15/2002 02:36:00 PM
I like it. Creative.
07/15/2002 02:04:00 PM
Unique idea ! I think I would like it even more without the hand if that is possible with such a heavy tool.
07/15/2002 12:03:00 PM
very nice... a transparency idea? : )
07/15/2002 11:17:00 AM
clever
07/15/2002 11:12:00 AM
So what is actually holding the clamp up?
07/15/2002 08:02:00 AM
Clever idea.
07/15/2002 01:26:00 AM
Interesting idea!
