Nice catch. Hard ones to get in focus

This is a pretty scene, and a nice capture of the bird. The tree has too much variance - and too much of it in focus - to work well as negative space, though, especially with the daylight glaring through the spaces.

2 weeks to dove season! bang! :o)

Where is the mate?

Where's the negative space? There's colour, texture and detail everywhere! 1

sorry, but I can't relate this shot to neg.space...

well, good capture of a bird, but it surely doesn't fit the challenge...

Gorgeous bird. However, I dont feel that the leaves and branches are uniform enough to give a "background feel". Perhaps a closer crop on the bird to try to get rid of most of the branches? Or perhaps a wider aperture? =)

shows that negative space does not mean a void! excellent. Great limited DOF, focusing on the bird. 6

My kids love the sound these make. We have mourning doves right outside our window. I like how you neg space is not really all that negative. Certainly the bird gets the focus here, but the leaves are interesting, too. Maybe that precludes them from belonging to a negative space? I like.

Sorry but for this challenge I don't think this works. I see the background before I see the bird. The background should accent the bird not hide it IMO. Good luck.
