Date: May 28, 2006

Used my tripod, almost lied on the ground, took several pictures with my shutter open from 1sec - 20sec... finally decided on the 10sec exposure. Used my ND400 filter so I could keep the shutter open for so long...

pw. Layers, color adjustment, burning and dodging the sky...

this is an incredibly gorgeous image. you've managed to capture, enhance and maximise the dynamicness of the building so well; it's almost like the best sort of portraits in that you've really nailed the buildings character. i love how someone described it as "wilfully malevolent" - a bang on description that. i mean, the angle, the colours, the light, everything works really well. i love the depth of focus too, how it gets a little soft the further back you look. i hope you realise how inspiring this image is. look at the reflections in the glass - fantastic! this so deserved better than 22nd. technically sound (i personally like the crop - makes it look more widescreen to suit it's sci-fi dystopian feel), and a great choice of subject...

Very nice image. I like the angle. It is different and that is good. The lighting is great. I see you had 10 second exposure so it must have been fairly dark. The focus and DOF are right on also. I also really like the reflection of the clouds in the windows. Very nice image to look at. There is one thing that I think is wrong with your image though, I think you cropped the top too much or if you didb't crop then I think you should have backed up a little to get the whole building in the shot. It is a different and nice perspective though. Also a very nice score. IMO it is a nice shot that could have scored a little better with just a few minor improvements. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments and votes. I got some comments on cropping the corner of the building... It was not on purpose :o) I am almost 8 months pregnant and just couldn´t get any lower for this picture. Really had to lay down in the last step and it was not easy.. :o)
(I must have looked so funny shooting this picture )..

It would probably have turned out better if I had used my wide lense but I don´t have any filter for that one and really wanted to make this one a long exposure one.

This has a great "heaviness" about it...the light is engrossing..intersting work.

This image looks generated. Has nice colours and lighting. But, this angle for me, doesn't go down very well.

Fantastically eerie light - looks like a movie set for a thriller but better. Marvelous off-kilter angles.

Beautiful. There's some irresistible element of anthropomorphism about this building; it seems wilfully malevolent. Of course it's partly the brooding angle and partly the severe, deep-space-bronze processing, but the effect is absolutely striking. You have captured the building as an emotional presence rather than as a utilitarian construction. 10.

The angle and the uneven lighting detract from this picture.

This is cool. With the extreme lighting, it looks like an artist's conception drawing. Lots of personality in this shot - colors, angles, detail at the bottom. Well done all round.

wow- the color and contrast as well as the strong angle here are awesome. The juxtaposed surface textures are great too.

I love the framing and teh colors in this image. Great exposure and the image is tac sharp. I would have like to see the top corner of the building where it meets the sky...... Overall great job. 8

Great colours and nice focus - while the concept and angle is great I'm not sure about the crop - maybe a tad too tight (6)

The Orc grant house.

Mér finnst hún full dökk og aðeins of gul. Mér finnst líka asnalegt að taka af horninu efst uppi. Annars er þetta mjög skemmtilegt sjónarhorn.
