this is a nice view, but i think i would have gone +1 on the exposure to make it whiter. :) did you use a polarizer? it doesn't look like it, but 1) i could be wrong and 2) if i'm NOT wrong, i'm bettin' you use them now, since this challenge was over two years ago!

Nice shot. Since you do not have a vivid blue sky, did you try it in bw? OR, try to focus on the flag since that is the most obvious color in the picture (except for the orange triangles at the bottom, which could be cropped or framed out.)

just boring

crisp blue sky would have helped

Nice composition. Almost too tight with the crop, but it works for this shot. Good job.

Typical tourist shot.

nice capture of the capitol, shame it wasn't sunny that day. those orange cones at the bottom are distracting, if you cropped this from a larger photo, leave a little more space at the top and crop a tad more off the bottom. -- gr8photos (5)

Uninteresting composition and colors are poor. Why didn't you wait for better loght?

Nice image, but nothing to distinguish it from the hundreds and hundreds of images of the Capitol I've seen before. 5 sjgleah

I think just a little more of the sky and less of the ground would have been a better picture.

I like the detail in this..all the way to the top of dome. I think it's nicely cropped and a powerful subject, looks like a postcard :) KJ - 8

good sharpness. It's a shame they're always doing construction

I know you couldn't help the clouds :-) but the whole image seems dull and washed out

The coloring on this seems cold to me, I wish the scaffling (?) was out or focused around, as well as the front fence and orange cones. Nothing on my monitor is in sharp focus. Sorry. I know it seems all bad but perhaps if you could get a touch closer your focus could be on your title - 'The Dome'. ~ 4 cthenk

Its too bad you didn't have enough time to fix this up in the digital darkroom. The only thing I would have done differently is to pan the camera to the left just a bit to put the central line of the dome through the right 1/3rd line. The in the digital darkroom you could brighten it up and give it a little contrast and you'd have a great image. -Roger

I would have liked to see more light or a more dramatic sky and less scaffolding.

Superbly framed and exposed. Maybe more light could've been nice, but it looks great.

Great shot. I would have preferred the scaffolding cropped off and a sunny day would have been nice (hey weatherman, I shooting here!) 8 Swash

Good control of your verticals in this photo. It looks like you used a longer telephoto setting with good results.

Trees look too dark and dead. No color in the sky; even if it is overcast, it could be more expressive with aperture and shutter variations.

From the title, I might have tried to shoot more of the dome, and less of the foreground. If you had clear weather anytime during the week, I might have shot it then, as the clouds don't help the lighting.
