This was hard to do. I had to build this tower, put the self timer on and destroy it on the exactly right time. I did that three times until a got a shot with flying bricks. That took time but it was worth it.

I don't like this look of this one. It looks so rough. I think I will not get a good score.

Whoohoo, I placed 6. My best so far! I was just kidding in the text above. I should like my best photograph.

Thanks for the good votes and comments!

From the Critique Club :

Hi Magnús !

Congrats ! This was your personal best and still is (for the moment...) your personal best place.
I agree with you about the look , I prefer the funny one of your self portrait ;-)

I really like the lighting on the wood pieces and the crop of the composition. The falling tower fills very well the space , with the lighting and sharpness it's really powerful !

As Larus ,pineapple and ericwoo pointed out in their comments during the challenge , I think that you could have improved it including a hand placing a piece or near the head. By the way , did you take some photos (without destroying the tower) to see different head's effects ? It could have helped.

It was a great idea and you have done an excellent job as reflected in the score. Well done !

Just a question of time to see you ribbonned !

This is a great shot. The idea, setup and timing are all spot on. The contrast and clarity against that background and your expression and placement is excellent. One of the best shots at meeting the challenge.

The message (as entitled) would have been better conveyed if the boy's hand was included in the photo about to place the last piece on the tower when the catastrophe happened.

The lighting is a great strength of this image. Everything about the subject is perfectly isolated off of the background. I like that. I would like to see more of the guy and his great expression. Composed like this, the head look oddly out of place.

Nice idea but why didn´t you let him hold his head or something, at first I thought he was blowing at the pile till I thought about the theme, that he is supposed to be horrified it is collapsing.
