This is great. It so totally fits the challenge - and this is a good treatment. Works really well in b & w and I really like how you've arranged the 'winning' chess pieces.

Outstanding photo in a challenge that is sadly lacking any. Love the muted lighting and composition is excellent. 10

The detail in this image is fantastic. The title and the shot is perfect for this challenge. The DOF and darkbackground add great impact to the photo. I find the arrangement of the opposing chess pieces both rythmic and pleasing to the eye, however very unrealistic in the end game of a chess match. I would like to see a shot with the pieces in more realistic positions to compare the two. I am rating this one high.

Nice tonal range good depth of field. Photo makes the army of chess people take on a sureal persona.

I like the idea, and the shot is well done from a technical standpoint. I think that the success of the standing pieces actually overshadows the failure of the lone, lying king.

Very creative. The ligthing is great as is the idea. Composition is nice also with the pawns forming diagonals running parallel with the board. Good job.

oh wow, this is a nice photo, 10 maybe straighten the horizon line instead of the forground line, though I don't know if that would look more crooked
