My daughter prepares for her dance class while listening to the teacher.
I used a layer of the high pass filter on the soft light blend, over sharpened, smudged the skin area, and used the selective color taking out the yellow.

I took several and preferred the shots where she is looking out waiting to dance as it relays the story more than looking at the camera would

No draganizer used here.

One of my favorite images from the challenge. But some of the shadows/hightlights look overprocessed. Its just the hair, it looks odd.
One my Top5 faves from the challenge.

I love this. You've given it a dreamlike quality in editing. I love the model's pose and her surroundings, the black hat and the posterboard of models in the bg really complete this portrait, only wish you could've cropped out the plant at the top left without compromising the rest of the fine image. 9

I like the comp and the capture. It could use a bit more contrast IMO.

Well done! This is almost Norman Rockwell like. I like it.

I really like the tones of this photo..I'd love to know what you did in post processing! I really like that you captured the hands being busy, but I'd love it even more if she was looking at the camera..or perhaps even at her feet. Good lighting on this shot.

This is a nice shot that clearly tells me something about what the subject does. Even thought she's not looking at the camera, it's still and effective portrait. Well done.
05/17/2006 06:38:47 PM
there's an odd painty look to this that I think I recognize, but I can't place your nick in my brain.... hmmmm.

oh, so sweet, 10. wonderful use of this processing.

have you looked at this as a B&W? might make a nice one with the monotone prevalance in it.

Nice work. I could see even from the thumbnails that you captured the intent of the challenge. The subject is clearly in her environment. Nice lighting too.

I love the pose here. it's very natural to here, but unique as well. it's something she would be doing even if you weren't watching but works perfectly to show a dancer in her enviornment. very nice.

Nicely set up. This is one of those pictures that keeps you looking, building stories about what's just outside the frame to capture her attention.

Interesting processing - it has a painterly feel to it. The outline of the figure is especially clear.

Super image - I love the details in this shot - the ballet shoes, the leggings, the hair. It looks almost like a painting in the thumbnail.
