My first challenge with my new Rebel XT! WOO-HOO!!!

This is an attempt to juxtapose the beauty of the creek environs with an ominous dark "presence" or mood. Not sure how well I accomplished this - or how it will be received. I was thinking of a suspense/drama/horror flick...

PP included:
lighting/exposure, color sat, burn/dodge brush, Mr. Contrast filter, Neat Image, transparency brush, save for Web.

[Purgatory Creek happens to be within a mile or two, but this is actually North Creek. I took shots of both and the terrain is similar, but the images of North Creek seemed to fit the challenge slightly better than the ones of Purgatory, so I borrowed the "P" name.]

Wow. I can't believe we almost had the same title. I went for a 'heavenly' name, you went the other direction. :) I think you were ripped off in your score, its a great pic. I love the fluidity of the water. Gotta try shutters that long. Great job!!

Nice image a little dark but I guess that is because of the title
Nice title

This is a pretty, balanced image, which means there's no tension to make me want to see the movie. Your title is better. At least the creek has an ominous name.

Sorry not for me, white water looks like cotton wool although i do love the effect I don't think it works in this composition.

Loveley long exposure. Looks as though you shot this on a cloudy day - a bit more light would have upped the contrast a bit.

The title is decent and the concept of the photo is good. I like that it is moody and matches the title. I think you have too much contrast and it has really hurt the image. I like the long shutter speed on the water giving it a foggy feel.

it's a great shot, but the title evokes suspense and the shot looks serene ... excellent photograph
