Focus should be on the dandelion, and even then the background is grainy.
07/21/2002 04:22:00 PM
Could have been a great macro, but I think the reveresed focus really hurts here. a pretty dandelion seed head in focus against a blurry green would have been much more effective. I'd also try a "Rule of Thirds" composition instead of the perfectly centered.
07/21/2002 10:24:00 AM
nothing interesting about this photo: subject, composition, focus...
07/20/2002 10:48:00 PM
I can only assume that the subject is purposely out of focus. My honest opinion (FWIW) is that it doesn't really work.
07/20/2002 05:56:00 PM
its out of focus and the background is very distracting
07/20/2002 01:16:00 PM
Out of focus???
07/19/2002 05:57:00 PM
your main subject is out of focus, that is not good. 3
07/19/2002 04:27:00 PM
Now that's a different approach of photography: everything in focus except the main subject :)
07/19/2002 08:11:00 AM
why is the subject out of focus?
07/19/2002 05:42:00 AM
wrong focus??
07/19/2002 05:32:00 AM
Focus on the flower, not on the grass!
07/18/2002 10:50:00 PM
The focus should of been on the item in the middle of the shot. Its like a reversed shot focus wise.
07/18/2002 07:25:00 PM
This photo would be greatly improved if the focus were on the dandelion, instead of the plants in the background.
07/18/2002 04:33:00 PM
If blurring the subject (see current forum thread) was deliberate, I find it interesting and different. I'm not sure I LIKE it, but it's different
07/18/2002 03:53:00 PM
focus is backwards - clarity and sharpness should of been on flower, not grass behind it.
07/18/2002 03:37:00 PM
this would be a great photo (and is a good title) if the dandylion was in focus and not the background. depending on how close up your camera focuses, you may simply have been too close. -- gr8photos (3)
07/18/2002 02:51:00 AM
Love the idea but I think it may be better if the white seeds were in focus instead of just the leaves.
07/17/2002 06:38:00 PM
dof should've been reversed. if the dandilion was in focus would've been a fantastic shot.
07/17/2002 05:00:00 PM
looks like your focus missed quite badly - must be too close for your camera, the background is sharp.
07/17/2002 03:51:00 PM
the wrong part is in focus. if your camera has one, choose single point focus.
07/17/2002 02:00:00 PM
This picture would have been much better, in my opinion, if the dandelion was in focus, and the rest was not. It is difficult to do, but worth the patience, I think. I like the color contrast that exists between the green and white.
07/17/2002 01:02:00 PM
really bad depth of field. try using manual focus to focus in on your subject or something.
07/17/2002 11:21:00 AM
Next time try getting your subject in focus.
07/17/2002 09:52:00 AM
Ever heard of focus?
07/17/2002 03:24:00 AM
focus is all shifted.
07/17/2002 12:34:00 AM
What was your reasoning for choosing your focus on the background objects? You might want to experiment more with macro to acheive a nicer effect.
07/17/2002 12:32:00 AM
never thought about having the subject unfocused, might be a good idea but I don't think it worked here
07/16/2002 11:40:00 PM
Focus
07/16/2002 04:34:00 PM
The flower is completely out of focus!
07/16/2002 03:43:00 PM
Need to work on the focus.
07/16/2002 02:23:00 PM
Focus should have been on the dandelion
07/16/2002 02:10:00 PM
i wish the foreground was in focus
07/16/2002 01:56:00 PM
this is cool. it looks like its out of focus but I know you ment it that way. The reverse focus affect is cool.
07/16/2002 01:37:00 PM
You should have focused on the flower (arnit)
07/16/2002 11:25:00 AM
The dandelion head should be in focus. You have to trick the auto focus into doing what you want.Moveing in on the head and pushing down on the shutter button to set the focus, then backing out to compose the shot and pressing all the way down on the shutter button,is one way to trick the auto focus.
07/16/2002 09:48:00 AM
focus seems 'backwards'. Maybe a sharp dandelion and a blurred background would be better ?
07/16/2002 09:16:00 AM
Why didn't you focus on the dandelion instead of the background?
07/16/2002 08:52:00 AM
out of focus.
07/16/2002 05:08:00 AM
Oh no! The focus is on the wrong object! :( Re-take this photo and make the dandalion (sp?) focused. good try though! :)
07/16/2002 02:15:00 AM
I like how the dandelion is glowing like that. just pull the focus onto the flower instead, and you'll have a really nice shot.
07/16/2002 12:19:00 AM
Nice try but the subject is completey out of focus and the back ground is clear. I know it's not ez. I spent some time today tryng to capture a similar image. Every time I started to shoot, a breeze came. I think I finally got one or two...much clearer.
07/15/2002 11:58:00 PM
I think this would have been better with the dandelion in focus and the background blurred.
07/15/2002 11:39:00 PM
Good idea but way to fuzzy on the subject. This would have been neat held up to a blue sky with more light shining through the fluff.
07/15/2002 08:17:00 PM
The image seems blurred. Not to sure if on purpose.
07/15/2002 07:59:00 PM
In my opinion, you should have focused on the dandelion, not the ground behind it. 3 Swash
07/15/2002 07:06:00 PM
out of focus
07/15/2002 05:55:00 PM
This would be much nicer if the focus was on the dandelion instead of the grass and leaves. I would also crop on both sides to accent the subject more. Good effort.
07/15/2002 04:34:00 PM
I can see what you were trying to do here.... you did it well, but it is distracting. Good effort. :)
07/15/2002 04:24:00 PM
I would have zoomed in tighter, and put the dandelion in focus instead of the background :)
07/15/2002 03:33:00 PM
This just doesn't do it for me. Your main subject is a blur and the background is a clean shot of grass and weeds.
07/15/2002 03:19:00 PM
oops. focus is wrong. You wanted the dandelion. I know that can be hard to see in the viewfinder. Nice composition, although you might consider moving it just a little off center for more interest. I can see where you wanted to go. A nice idea
07/15/2002 02:49:00 PM
Wow! My eyes hirt, your subject is way out of focus.
07/15/2002 02:26:00 PM
Looks like the wrong focal point.
07/15/2002 01:45:00 PM
Your focus point was not on your subject.
07/15/2002 01:06:00 PM
nice... but the focus should be the other way, no? try using manual focus if possible.
07/15/2002 10:00:00 AM
It's a bit blury.
07/15/2002 07:58:00 AM
The flower is too close to the camera or the camera focused on the background instead.
07/15/2002 06:17:00 AM
I think you missed your subject with the focus on this image. = 3 - jmsetzler
07/15/2002 04:58:00 AM
Clever title, nice photo. Kee
07/15/2002 03:19:00 AM
Would have been better if the main subject was in focus and the back ground blurred
07/15/2002 01:29:00 AM
I think this would have worked better with the focus on the foreground object. *5* --balynch
07/15/2002 12:50:00 AM
Was the focus on the background intentional?
