I agree, my Oly does a lousy job selecively focusing on the foreground, and I have no manual focus option -- macros are always a challenge.

For those who thought it was just dirt, these are earthworm "castings" or excreta -- one of the most important components in the constant recycling of nutrients. I believe it is estimated that most of the topsoil found in the world today has passed through the intestines of at least one earthworm ...

Can't really figure it out what this is. I miss the shadows, there are too much dominant midtones without dark tones. Ant whatever this is, the 2/3 part o the photo is out of focus.

3/4 of the picture is out of focus. It would be better if the front was in focus

I'm not usually against an oof foreground, but in this picture 1/2 of the frame is oof. Would have been better with the background oof.

the depth of field is awkward here, having the front two thirds of the frame out of focus makes this photos less compelling than it could be...
