If the popcorn had been flying in a startled arc from the hands up into the upper right corner, I would have given this those extra points. It's a little out of focus/soft -- which may be your camera. I think it's too brightly lit -- a darker, moodier scene, like you're watching TV at night would have been more appropriate, I think. I've got to say, the jacket on the attacker just doesn't work for me -- but that's a personal thing.

awful graphic render/compression.

I think it would work better if the assailant were "implied" instead of rght there (say with a looming shadow). Or, maybe have the arm and knife appear to be reaching out of the screen toward the "viewer."

oh god! is this the fat guy who's always naked? wish you'd keep your friggin clothes on; you might get some better scores!
07/11/2002 09:06:00 PM
lose some weight ya fat thing ya! maybe your wife would lose some too!!!!
07/11/2002 08:52:00 PM
Food idea and reasonably well composed, but it looks a little too posed. Perhaps if the popcorn were flying through the air this would work better.
07/10/2002 09:03:00 PM
Needs less light, and the bad guy needs not to be looking at the camera.
07/10/2002 02:00:00 PM
hmmm

Initially voted this low, but I'm seeing the fun now :) Had it been me, I would have used a darker room and although it would have made a mess, have the popcorn flying. bumping you up to 5...

meeting challenge = 4 photo quality = 3 seems to be too much space where nothing is happening here. total = 7

I think the room needs to be a little darker, just to set the mood. What i like is the way the knifeman is looking at the camera and the victim is not.

funny
07/09/2002 09:51:00 PM
dude... watch out behind you !!! = 7 - jmsetzler

The popcorn looks sharp, so why doesn't the rest look as sharp? Higher fear score than most. 6 Swash
07/09/2002 04:00:00 PM
Kill him! KEEELLLL HEEEMMMM!

This would have been more effective with better focus, and better lighting. Moodier lighting, like it was taken at night.
07/09/2002 03:52:00 PM
The most fearsome thing in this shot is the amount of popcorn all for one person!
07/09/2002 02:07:00 PM
funny!
07/09/2002 12:51:00 PM
=)

One of the few that made me smile! Couls have done with a tighter crop - the tables on the lhs and door on the right don't add anything and are distracting because the DOF is so great.
07/09/2002 11:00:00 AM
Your setup is rather poor... Centering, clipping, lots of dead space, poor lighting. The guy looks more so happy than frightened. And the guy with the knife doesn't seem very scary.
07/09/2002 10:49:00 AM
lookout behind you!
07/09/2002 08:58:00 AM
I'm sorry but you do not look frightened. I am not frightened and the composition could use some work. The right side is much too empty...
07/09/2002 05:18:00 AM
sorry but it is too unnatural
07/08/2002 09:42:00 PM
Haven't I seen this face somewhere before? This works and it made me laugh too. Good job. Now, pass that popcorn please.
07/08/2002 08:47:00 PM
Good composition. Your pic makes my palms and soles of my feet sweat!
07/08/2002 02:15:00 PM
This is great--just a little tighter crop on the right..Don't need the doorway.
07/08/2002 10:46:00 AM
well, at least he wasn't totally NAKED, for once!
07/08/2002 08:49:00 AM
Um, some problems with the narrative: Why is the bloke reacting when he hasnt been stabbed yet? Why is he looking at the camera? He is moving, but the popcorn isnt flying. Why is this happening in daylight and not at night? The movie is missing from the photo.
07/08/2002 06:26:00 AM
funny
07/08/2002 03:49:00 AM
whoa.
07/08/2002 12:59:00 AM
Would have been cool if the popcorn was being tossed up...
