I hate these see through walk ways!!!Now that I know where this was taken I see thats moveing water down there and this REALLY freaks me out. It's too bad the fact that its a walkway on a dam and over running water couldn't be made evident in the shot.A long shot side view wouldn't have worked. This is better than 4.8. Good luck and keep on taking pix.

I assume this is a fear of heights shot. If I'm wrong, well, none of the following comments apply. :-) The rouble I'm having is in seeing that this is a height shot. from what I can see in the picture, the cement (?) below the walk might be just a few inches below or it might be hundreds of feet. There's nothing in the picture to really say (at least nothing I can see). Fun angle, interesting lines, a little bit soft in the focus as I look at the foot. Just need that element of height to kick it up.

It doesn't really convey a sense of fear to me.

I really like the composition and the line patterns. I would have given this a 10
if the foot had been in better focus.

Heights, a good thing to fear.

good subject.

Excellent shot... I always hate walking on those grates when they're high up. You captured this well.

Fear of water? picture fits the title well.
07/11/2002 01:09:00 PM
This really dosen't work for me. The title dosen't fit the picture and there is no obvious fear attached to it.

This is a neat concept for fear of heights :) These grated walkways are fearful for me and I'm NOT afraid of heights :) good shot! = 8 - jmsetzler

i can definitely commisserate with this one. what would make this better? maybe if there wasnt such a shadow on the foot. maybe if the grate was in better focus. watch for that next time. mag 99

I really like this photo. Good perspective. I feel like I'm there.

I know this feeling. Good idea but you didn't get the "height" factor to show up well enough to envoke fear into the viewer of your picture. You were probably limited to what you had to work with. A 6 by Autool

Good Idea but I dont get any real idea of hight, maybe somthing on the ground like a car would have given this shot some perspective.

I get the idea that there is fear here, but the subject matter is not desciptive enough to "understand" this fear. What is that stuff below you? Acid? Soap? Very clearly taken shot of this subject, but what is it? (Don't worry, I ask the same question about abstract stuff, too.) 5 Swash

Unless you have an unusual fear of metal gratings or painted toenails, I am assuming this is high? Not sure how you could do it, but it needs a little more depth or something to help the viewer see the scale of exactly how high up you are. karmat

Well, that at least LOOKS like a sturdy walkway.

This is good - The red toenail is perfect to offset the industrial surroundings. Perhaps a high-heel lacey shoe would add to the feeling of being out of your element. - fear of heights - excellent choice.

Oh my...you got my worst fear right there. Heights are one thing, but seeing the ground beneath me make me just about pass out! Great photo 10 rkymtndream.

neither height nor vigorous water element is prominent...... infact looks pretty safe !
07/08/2002 02:27:00 PM
Yes!!!!I hate these see through walkways,no matter how high or low they are.

I can understand this photo better than some this week. However, the title saves it for me.
