 I realize this probably won't do well as far as the challenge goes, but it's all a learning experience so it's all good. This is a pin that I got for Christmas one year - really a pretty piece of costume jewelry that I especially love because I like lizards.

Shot in my sewing room with the pin on black fabric, using a halogen desk lamp.

In RAW - WB to the left a bit; lowered exp, brightness; inc contrast. Cropped. Coverted to B&W using channel mixer, conv to grayscale, duotone with red, converted to RGB, USM, flipped horizontally, resized.

focus is a bit soft on the lizard and sharp on the background. Not sure about the folds in the fabric, It might have been better on a solid background. For eye candy anyway.

Sorry I don't want to sound too harsh, I like your photos for the most part they are great but I am just trying to find the reasons why they may have not scored well.

Nice! really love the tones here, you worked it out really well! The rough texture of the fabric adds nicely to the finished touch. Love the lighting, Good job!

I think this is very well done. Just the perfect amount of light on the sparkly diamonds against the rich brown fabric. I think its very appealing!
