Abstract? Abstract! Abstract. hmmm...
I think this should be a very interesting challenge. I feel there is such a very fine line between pure genius and pure rubbish in this genre. So, my photo here, pure genius? pure rubbish? or more than likely somewhere in between, riding that fine line. I don't know, we shall see. If a couple of folks dig it though, I'll be happy :-)
The title? Well, ...I mean it to be thought provoking, but maybe it just sucks. For some reason, it's the thought that came into my mind, and I hope for it to be merely a gentle nudge for the viewer to lead to their own thoughts and intrepretation.
So anyways, what is it? Or maybe noone even cares or is even reading this! But, it is a cheerleading pom pom, with foil strands of blue, red, gold and silver. Shot close (4-5 in.) in macro, with a 2 sec exposure. Then during that 2 sec, I spun the camera almost but not quite entirely unlike about 180 deg. or so. Used my halogen shop light set on low, bounced off the ceiling for lighting. Not much in ps- cropped, some hue/sat, levels and curves adj. resized.

So anyways, thanks for checking out my pic :-)

This is beautiful. I am a fan of good abstracts and this qualifies IMHO. ;-) Of course abstracts are SOO subjective, but this has wonderful fluid swirling movement and terrific visually appealing colors. Great job.

I can't believe I didn't comment on this (I did vote on this challenge, and this one got a 9 from me). It's simply wonderful. Colors and motion are perfect. There's only one thing I think can be improved--the areas on the left which are overexposed/white. I think you could try a crop or just fix them directly. It might be easier to crop, since it's harder to fix effects like this achieved so naturally in photoshop.

GREAT WORK! Into my favs.

I can't do anything like this (requires imagination) but admire those who can. Love the colors -could not guess what the heck it was !!!

I like you wild blend of colors here, love the top right corner, little tighter on the bottom and left maybe.

colour balance is great, a really interesting photo to look at. It almost feels like a painted image apart from of the light stokes, this makes it even more compelling.

I am going to try to predict what it is for each photo: Yours is ....a convolution of movement.

I am not typically a fan of those "shake the camera" kind of shots, but I have to give it to you ... it really works here. Almost like a painting. Very nice.
