My daughter fell and got a fat lip the day before..I got this shot by leaning over the stairs. Thankfully, she is not posing for the shot...
Curves, contrast, +saturation a bit. Levels, LAB to grayscale to RGB. Small bits of dodge and burn. Added border.
Smart sharpen, bicubic sharpen save for web.

i love the persepctive and composition. the lighting and her expression is really great too. and the choice of black and white really helps to emphasize her solemn expression. glad you caught a natural moment here. :) it makes for a great image.

This is the third shot today that has made me stop and stare. Do I like it? I don't know. I will have to look at this for some time to come to that conclusion. Does it move me? Make me think? Captivate me at some level that I don't understand? Yes. For this I thank you. That is the essence of what I want photography to be. Not perfect but moving...

An interesting perspetive. The B&W works well for this high perspective. The eposure/processing on the face is a bit harsh for my liking. I would have liked the face to not have had the hot spot on it. JMO.
