 These are fortunes that people buy. After a quick read, they tie them up near the shrines for hopes of a good and prosperous year.

Nice composition. I like the focus/DOF too. The highlights are a bit bright, but I think it works here. Interesting angles and lines - and subject.

I absolutely adore this picture. The thumbnail was interesting, but full show is great. I guess I don't have a lot to say, can't find anything wrong at all with this. So guess this wasn't very helpful, huh :) You should hang this in your kitchen.

Like the use of DOF here with the colour red in the background.
