 Editing: Crop, levels, contrast, more levels, noise removal from sky, resize, burn midtones in the center of dunes a bit, unsharp mask, save for web.

This picture of the dunes was taken on a mini-DPC get together with vtruan and his family. It was really a fun day. I've had quite a few dunes pictures in the challenges - this is the first time I've done one in B&W.

I like the patterns and waves. For me, if there was a bit more overall contrast between shadows and highlights, I would have scored it higher.

I would crop out any inkling of the sky in this piece... it would give it a more abstract feel which is the part of this that is really appealing. I'd also crop out the little bumps on the bottom. Having that cropped you get an 8.. and that's easy enough to do ... so... 8

The dark slivers at the bottom of the frame distract from an otherwise excellent photo. Love the range of tones in the dunes. Well done.

I like it that you choose B&W to emphasize the lines and shadows, it has a nice classic feel. I personally might have chosen to drop the sky to focus all attention on the sand dunes. 8

I absolutely regret the dunes that are cut at the bottom. Without these I would have give you a 9 or 10, but now I see these I can't appreciate the reste of the picture anymore :( - 8
