Thank you all for your kind words. This newbie is greatly encouraged. BTW if the book had been truned the other way you would have automaticlally focus on the words (by habit) rather than the glasses. aelith

Depth of field is excellent. Simple things such as used in this photo sometimes work the best to bring the point across. Lighting it not too bright and overall is acceptable to bring out the idea of the maker. Well done. Simple but technically has used the camera to its capacity.

Great idea, and very well done. I'd probably have liked this a little better if the book were right-side-up though.

nice shot. good lighting. the long shadow of the glasses is nice. also the texture of the paper is seen very good. high DOF. "transparency" is ok, although it would have fit better to the "shadows" challenge ;-)

I love the way the bifocal lens creates the distortion over the text. excellent composition and lighting in this photo... great work! = 10 - jmsetzler

Good subject and photo. The transparency is not the main subject. Good idea having the text upside-down. Great shadows.

I was sure to find this picture on this week's contest, but I never imagined it would be so nicely done ! I like everything in your submission, congratulations !

Great texture in the book and really nice lighting.. The bifocals are a good touch.

Nice shot. I also like it more cropped on the bottom up to about an inch below the main lense in the shot.

very nice

very nice image.....I love the lighting effect here, and how you've captured the difference between the bifocals vs regular lens. I like the overall composition too.

I would have liked the book positioned 180 from how it is.
07/01/2002 11:04:00 AM
The paper texture is impressive
07/01/2002 10:05:00 AM
Great shot, well lit, well composed and framed. It's not that appealing to me, except for its obvious quality and skill.
07/01/2002 10:02:00 AM
I like the framing and the shadow of the glasses. You also bring out the texture of the book with the lighting which is also good.

Very well focused and the placement is excellent. Isn't it terrible having to get bifocals?
