I love this photo. It sums up everything about the situation. It so works that you don't see who she's talking to. It makes it all mysterious - how flirting should be. Her face and smile are so appealing, so friendly and inviting. Yet you can still see the guarding - she doesn't know this person well. She doesn't trust them. She's revealing all these good qualities about herself yet is ready to bail if need be. I love how the background is blurred out - it's only her and this unknown person. The world around is insignificant. And I think the differing levels on the wine glasses is very symbolic! These two people are different and while how fast someone drinks doesn't say alot about them, it adds the mystery of this unknown person. It also confirms that we don't need to see them.

Should have won...just a great photo. Beautifully candid, excellent composition. It's anonymous and personal at once.

This photo seems a bit unbalanced to me. What I see is the glasses taking up the left side of the photo, and she is taking up the right side of the photo, however, her face is way up in the photo toward the top and her eyes are dangerously close to the top frame of the photo.
The soft focus actually works for me here. Kind of gives us a dreamy feeling about the whole shot.
The way you have blurred the background is great. I think it gets the background out of the way and lets us focus on the subject a lot. The lighting is a little dark, but I think it's ok that way, as we can see her face just fine. Kind of gives a mysterious feeling as well as dreamy feeling.
Overall, I think that it's a wonderful shot, and there isn't much that I'd like to see differently other than the eyes a little farther away from the frame of the photo. I would like to see it more of the main subject, and with them so close to being out of the photo, it takes the focus off her face, and that's where I'd really like to see it.
Great shot none the less.

IMHO this shot was the best one in this challenge, I love the smile, the slightly soft focus, the excellent b/w, and it fit the challenge perfectly!

Great concept for this photo. I like the use of B&W and the border works well on this one. My only suggestion would be a slightly sharper image. The composition is very well done. Keep up the great work!

Too fuzzy. Too dark. Perhaps a silhoette of light behind the subject would be pleasant.

Who is she flirting with? If both people were in shot would have been much better...composition doesn't work with just one person

I love the expression on the girls face. It definitley connects to the title and all in all it connects to the challenge. I wish I could see the other person - but it's a great shot. 8.

The composition and lighting make a perfect statement. The exclusion of the mans face makes a greater impact. I like your black and white treatment a lot. 10 -danny

I find the picture imbalanced with two glasses and just one face. Your subject's smile and vivaciousness is very attractive and certainly captures what appears to be a very pleasant meeting. DOF is excellent but I find focus could have been sharper on the woman's face. In addition, I think the photo would have been more effective in color.

Wonderful clarity and wonderful cropping. The girl smiling in the photo just makes me want to smile. Great job capturing the emotions.

A nice take on the theme of the challenge. The focus seems a little blurry to me but I like the smile you captured and the light of the glasses making these two things the strong focal point of the shot. It says exactly what you want it to.

Spot on - I love the way the guy (i'm guessing it's a guy although the finger nail looks slightly suspect ;)) is out of the picture ... keeps us guessing. And the tilt of the glass suggesting a toast is a nice touch. Fully natural smile also. 8.

Great concept, shame it isn't sharper. The cropping is particularly effective. Great dof, the background is nicely blurred. I think I'd have liked this in colour with warm tones... oranges and reds. In black and white, it almost looks like it could be a business lunch. 7

very nice I like how one person is out of the shot and B&W really works but it is a bit soft I would like to see this one a little sharper (not tack sharp but a little sharper still) a 9

Wow. this is one of thos aaah pictures. I like the way you left the man out, and made him just a hint of a nice guy reflected on the woman's face. Looks like mystery guy hit first base.
