Thanks to those leaving helpful comments - some of them were wonderful.
Oh and also, if you don't see texture on the pear you need to calibrate your monitor.

I really like this - great focus and DOF and lighting - very appealing - nice work :)

Fabulous in it's simplicity and composition. You even avoided the discoloring that comes with cut pears. 9

Beautiful composition. Personally, I'd like a wider depth of field to see more detail in the pear.

Shallow DOF as in this image gives a very professional look to an image. Typically shallow DOF directs the viewer's attention to the focused areas and reviewers will ask themselves what is so special about that stem. It is a nice the way you have it curl around the other half of the pear in the background and placment on a cutting board is a good touch.

Very nice macro, but I can barely make out the cheese (if my translation is correct). I quess would like to see more of it since it is part of your title.

Lovely graceful pear... elusive fromage, though.

Not sure how this is a recipe...
01/15/2006 07:35:45 PM
So where is the cheese?

Where is Le Fromage?

Ou est le fromage?
Excuse my poor french. Lovely pic of a pear. I particularly like the stalk which gives it that little bit extra.

Love the composition, but the depth of field is just a bit too shallow in my opinion. Would have like to have seen more of the pear in focus. Still, meets the challenge and looks good. 6.

Wow I love the stem of the pear. It had a great texture and curve to it. The green behind the pear is a little distracting. I assume it is another piece of fruit, but because the color tone is so different from the rest of the photo my eye is drawn to it.

Ou est la fromage? :P Nice macro. Good luck.

Artistically strong composition. I would have liked more DOF, the pear has no texture. Also I don't see the cheese.
01/11/2006 04:13:13 PM
where's the cheese? ;)
Love it, the detail on the stem really works for me

I like the pear, but I find the green (lime?) distracting. 5

Nice, I don't see the cheese. :)

One of my favorite treats. But most of the pear is out of focus and the cheese is missing. (Unless the cheese is that green thing in the background -- I hope not!)

Not sure where the fromage is here, but good macro shot. Shape of the stem is lovely.

I like this, the DOF really works and the wrinkly stem shows the ripeness of the pear. Great composition and eye.

I would have liked this better if both pears were in focus. I like the coloring though.

can't see the fromage anywhere...the pear stalk is the focus

Two pear halves, no cheese? Good image though.
