Eric King - Buffalo Bills (L) and Quentin Jammer - San Diego Chargers (R) as they almost ran over me.
Shot at 75mm, and nearly a full crop.
The split second after the shutter was clicked, I HAD TO jump back or get run over by 400lbs of NFL locomotive.

Brad I for one gave you a 9 - probably should have given you a 10. The clarity and moment of capture are amazing. I know how hard a decent action shot can be, but I have one very very small wish. If Quentin Jammers' eyes were more exposed that would have been even more amazing. I however do not fault you one tiny tiny bit for not fullfilling my wish. Great Shot.

better than a decisive moment of a well-known and gifted athlete.
4) I should go back to shooting flowers or learn grunge PP.

Oh well, Quentin Jammer's foundation is interested to see this shot.
THAT is worth more than a good score.

Brad - awesome, wonderful, amazing, inspiring, exciting, wish I had more adjectives, but at the moment - these seem to fit.

I came across this one when I was judging the challenge, and I just couldn't give it a score. On the one hand, it's a great shot. Very well done. On the other hand, my Buffalo Bills have been soooooo frustrating this season that I can't look at this without thinking of the horrible game it was taken at! Probably would have been a 7 anyway. Good job.

I'm soooo tired of seeing football shots shoe-horned into challenges around here... oh... wait a minute... let me re-think that :) Very nice job! I'm very familiar with the "shoot and get the heck out of the way" technique! :)

Very good shot of the action. The charger is in perfect focus and looks intense. If there is any problem with this shot it would be that without the "ball" showing, there seems to be no subject of the shot. In that case is seems that as a "sports" shot, the only person that would be interested in this shot would be the "charger" in focus. I sort of looks like you shot everything the whole game and picked out the best "in focus" shot.

I hope that makes sense ! Anyway...technically the shot is worth and 8. I feel if the "bill" had the ball showing, I could rate a 9 or 10.

Good Luck....

There were a number of football pictures in this challenge, but this was my favorite - it really brings you into the action! The focus, clarity and sharpness of on the eyes is great! The colors are rich, stop action - perfect. Nicely done!

This captures some painful memories for me... when my beloved Bills were driven out of the Charger's stadium in an oh-so humiliating way :-( (very nice job, BTW)

7 - Good shot, good color. Criticism; slightly tighter crop on the left (still retaining enough face though) may have made this even better in my opinion. Perhaps more 'depth of field'/background 'play' on the right too, not sure. Also not sure on the frame.

I'll take this over a purdy girl anyday. :-) And if this isn't who I think it is, then this is a pretty odd comment. But really, this is a great shot, colors and clarity are awesome as is the composition. Great sports photo!

Fun picture. Like the two guys to the left in the background - those two and the players to the right make it seem like there is a plenty of action going on. Quite a funny face on the player to the right in the foreground.
If only we could also see the ball ...
