too dark

Texture contrasts are as effective as color contrasts. By leaving this pic too dark, you don't get the texture of the hair. B/W?

NICE IDEA...but a bit too dark....

too dark

Returning for comment. I think this is a dog? I've checked this on a couple of different monitors and IMHO too much shadow detail is lost. You've got a nice catchlight in the eye, but I suspect the eye is all most voters can see on their monitors. With regard to composition, it looks like you've filled the frame and that you've composed according to rule of thirds well. Meets challenge as far as single articificial light source, but the severe loss of shadow detail is a technical deficiency that will be hard to overcome.

I think the photo is a little to dark and it doesn't help that the dog is black as well

That very nearly counts as NO light source. Yes, my monitor is calibrated and yes, I can see the dog's face, but there just isn't enough TO look at to make it interesting. Must have been a challenge to focus in so little light. 5

I don't see any light source here, much less artificial. I think I can make out one blurry eye? In that case, I have had to score this shot extremely low for subject matter and focus being lost.

I have my monitor fairly well calibrated and I can't tell what this is. You certainly have my interest, but I'm not sure what is here.

I think I see an eye. Too dark to really get a feel of anything.

Too little image to make it for me.

I think it'd be cool if you could see a little more of his outline (his figure) but nice shot!

COOL!!! Is it a dog? A wolf? A horse. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm - very mysterious.
11/16/2005 06:40:01 AM
to dark in my opinion but not bad
11/16/2005 12:27:52 AM
I can't see at all what this is.
