I am sure you have heard it...I have gotten the same comments...the sun in not artificial light... |

Is it an artificial sun...? ;-) This reminds me of a place you might find in a Tolkien story. |

Sorry, but I can't see how you hoped to get away with this! (and I speak as someone else who didn't strictly speaking meet the challenge requirements myself.) Using the sun clearly isn't allowed, and to be honest I'm not that bowled over by the photo either - maybe if you had used sunlight in a creative way I might have been tempted to ignore you not meeting the challenge. |

The challenge was about a single artificial light source. |

Challenge asked for an artificial light source. Sorry nice pic but DNMC. 3 |

Use a single, artificial light source to dramatically light the subject of your choice. |

The sun is not an ARTIFICIAL light source. Apart from that, the framing (arch) certainly adds appeal to this picture. |

The sun and moon are not artificial light sources, not even in shadows and tunnels. Therefore, to me, this is a free study shot. Also, I find the edges a bit out of focus as well as the background. For all of these reasons, I scored you very low on this entry. |

Not artificial - read the challenge again - sorry |

But the sun is not an artificial light source. |

Sun = Natural light source. Challenge calls for "Artificial". |
11/17/2005 05:59:51 PM |
The challenge was meant to use an artificial light source. |
11/17/2005 03:01:25 PM |
Looks just a little out of focus and the shadows are a little stong. |

humm artificial light source ?? |
11/16/2005 07:04:11 PM |
I believe the challenge called for an artificial light source...
With that said, there isn't much here of visual interest. There is a natural frame, but it doesn't work as well as you might have intended. The colors are flat, and the lines aren't working. Can't figure out if you were going for a focal point or a vanishing point here. While not completely out of focus, this image just isn't as sharp as some of the others in the challenge. Overall, this looks more like a snapshot rather than an artistic interpretation of something. Better luck next time.... |

Yeah, but it's not artificial. |
11/16/2005 06:14:50 PM |
Sorry, giving natural light a 4, challenge suggested artificial, beautiful corridor though. |
11/16/2005 04:49:33 PM |
Sorry DNMC. "Artificial" lighting is required. |

Very nice, but as you may have already been told, doesn't meet the challenge because it's not an artifical light. |
11/16/2005 02:07:05 PM |
You will have got plenty comments about the sun not being an artificial light-source ... so I won't mention it. Composition is OK. I wonder if different lighting woiuld have changed the feel. |
11/16/2005 01:04:04 PM |
Interesting picture but I think you miss read the challenge. The light source is supposed to be “artificial”. I'm sure you will get some comments on that.

Sun, sadly, doesn't quality as artificial light. Shame because this is well composed and framed image. |

Use a single, > > artificial << light source to dramatically light the subject of your choice.
11/16/2005 03:19:45 AM |
But the sun is not 'artificial' light source... and the shadows don't represent a dramatic development in this image. |
11/16/2005 02:21:42 AM |
It has to be artificial, though, too. :( |
11/16/2005 12:18:37 AM |
Nice image, but it doesn't follow the DPC rules:
Use a single, artificial light source to dramatically light the subject of your choice.
The sun isn't artificial. So sorry. |
