A spider in the garden after the rain cooled him off so he couldn't move very fast. I wish this was a member's challenge because I would like to have cleaned up the sensor dust in the backround and I would have cloned out the black wood splinter coming across the spider's body. As it is I cropped, sharpened, increased contrast, used Neat Image and rotated. Canon EF 100mm 1:2.8 Macro with flash.

Wow, I really hate spiders, but this is a beautiful picture. Maybe beautiful's not the right word for a spider... but I love this picture.

One of my favorites in the challenge. Wonderful color, focus and refections in the water droplets. Great job. Now you can feel free to clone out those distracting darks spots that look like dust on the photodetector.

Oh my goodness...This is a spider?? I cannot believe my eyes. You have captured a magnificent photo. The background shades are nice, as well as the focus of the subject. I especially love how the water droplets on the legs captured reflections of the scenery.

I think I would have liked to have seen the entire spider - all of his legs. Otherwise a good catch.

Delicate, nice lines. Perfect except the brownish dots on top right area.

I hate spiders, not really scared of them just not fond, but don't worry that didn't influence my voting on this nice shot, 8

Very neat shot--kind of a juxtaposition of "ugly and unclean" with "beautiful and pure."

now THAT is a macro. Sheesh. love the water drops. If this doesn't score high, don't worry, it just means people have no taste.

Very impressive. What contradiction between the droplettes and the creature. One of those images that sets off a different feeling each time I look at it. Full marks for taking an opportunity that nails the challenge beautifully.

Certainly not a pretty beast, but love the photo. The water drops give a fairly good sense of scale as well.

Absolutely awesome photograph! It has such "wow" appeal. Well done, this is such a find. And the narrow DOF just adds to the appeal. I love the two little beady eyes, almost insignificant on the huge body. ...9

Love the photo, but this isn't a spider . . . it is an arthropod, and an arachnid, but not a spider.
