Taken at the trip that Barbara (BAMartin) and I took to Iceland last week. An incredible country. This is actually one of my favorite photos from that trip. I know the liquid doesn't take up the majority of the photo and isn't the most obvious subject, but, I wanted to submit something from that trip, so this is it. :)
Technically, I slightly rotated, then adjusted levels a bit, resized, increased hue a bit, USM, then added the frame. This is pretty much how it looked ... and the smell of sulphur was pretty bad, too. |

The challenge called for a liquid NOT water. This looks like water to me, but I have been known to be wrong before.
This is a really really nice photograph. I like the whole scene as a whole. I like the steam, the colors and the road in the background.
There are a few things though that I see that as indivudual aspects could have been improved upon.
It's true that the road does lead OUT of the photo, and in this case only suceeds in creating a distraction. But, I still like it. lol
The far 'horizon' where the dirt meets the darker background LOOKS tilted, but it isn't. I'm not really sure if it's the road that creates the illusion that it's tilted, but something is.
Other than that, I think your focus and clarity are really great, and I could actually see this in the magazine cover challenge. I think it would work better in that challenge than the liquid without water challenge.
Looks like a very nice place to visit.

| Excellent idea, but two things - what is bubbling up from the Earth? Water? Second - you have this GORGEOUS leading line .. out of the picture. |

| This place looks familar, but I have been to so many places... I like I would have liked to have seen a wider shot, but you must have had your reasons. To boarder is a tad too thick too, but over all a nice shot. |
