I really thought this would place higher but congrats anyway on your top 20 finish. Glad to hear you drank the good stuff and massacred the bad :)

I had envisoned this with a "frozen" splash, as many commentors mentioned, but I got this on my last bottle and did not have time to adjust anything. I broke about 15 bottles. The timing was difficult, a lot of them did not even end up in the frame! Also, for the beer lovers out there, I drank the Heineken and filled them with really cheap beer. Unfortunatley, toward the end I was running out of beer and had to go to a 50/50 beer/water solution. Nice job by the commentors to pick that up! What a stinky mess in my basement this left.

Pretty cool moment but I don´t know wether it´s because the shutterspeed isn´t fast enough or the DOF doesn´t cover the base area of the bottle (where it is breaking) but I would have liked this shot a lot more if the whole shot was crystal clear and more "frozen" but great effort and I gave it a 7.

I like your take on the challenge. It looks like water to me though, not beer. Perhaps if you'd colored the water or used soda instead?

I really like the concept of the picture, but I wish the background was a different color so the splash would stand out more. Great capture thought. How many bottles did you have to go through? And did you drink all that was inside them? ;)

As a beer drinker, I appreciate your use of water for a session. Crashing a bottle WITH beer would negatively distract me from undoubtly interesting idea of breaking bottle :)

man, had the DOF been increased enough to make the splash as sharp as the bottle, this would have been a 10 (and a ribbon winner). It looks like you gave it a shot with a high F-stop because I think I see sensor dust. I'll give it an 8 for now.
