Bubbles and butterflies are not easy to work with. Third time is the charm I guess.

First time: 10 mph winds would sweep away the bubbles before I had time to press the shutter. Not to mention the Monarch butterfly flew away right as I snapped the shutter.

Second time: With another live Monarch Butterfly I moved the photo shoot inside to a south facing window. Cleaned the window. Set up the composition and snapped 75 photos. Butterfly was let go. 2 were good but I found out that my camera had decided to change the date to Nov. 16, 2005!

Third time: Was fortunate enough to capture another Monarch. I was also fortunate to have a 1 hour break in the rain storms that are coming off of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Rita. I made sure that the camera had today's current date before I started taking photos. This time I snapped 30 shots of which 3 were really good. This is the best of three:-)

I just knew you'd come up with something. Question, and you can answer anywhere you want to...how is it that you know much about attracting and capturing insects?

Balance and focus just too good to offer any criticism. Congratulations.

Hmmm. I have no idea how you would control this, but I would have liked to have seen the bubble closer to the butterfly. The bubble is so transparent that you almost miss it. Also, I wish you comle have gotten rid of those dark leaves/branches which are out of focus. Some people want everything!! I really think it's a good concept and execution, but it needs some tweaking on the composition.

NIce picture. However there are some specs on the right side, looks like your lens needs to be cleaned

Good bubble, good butterfly. Tthere is nothing to bring the two together--I think I would like it better if they were closer together.

The bubble should really be your main idea. Not the butterfly

Was it live or from a collection? Regardless, great shot! Good luck...

Doesn't really tie together- too random.

Well, this is just beautiful. Technically perfect. Okay... if I had to be picky I'd say the bubble could be shifted slightly to the right. But otherwise an excellent shot.
