My cat always goes there when he wants to come inside. I had absolutly no clue what to do for this challenge and this was the only thing even remotely relevant. I wanted to get him meowing or "patting" the window, but he decided to just sit down and watch me.

Oh I just discovered this one. Love the expression and the framing. This is nice. Good composition and contrast.

FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Hello, Andre,

IMO, this was the best pet picture in the Home Sweet Home challenge. To me personally pets do not speak of home, but this picture does - the cat looking through the door-window, trying to get in, that's home.

The composition and the choice of BW are excellent. I love how you framed the picture on two sides with the doorframe. Also, the way you see only part of the cat's face, and only one ear, is beautiful. The cat's eyes are very good. IMO, the photo does not need a mat or frame, it stands quite nicely on its own.

Focus is excellent. The blurred background looks totally appropriate here. The soft lighting works well here. There's only one place where I can see black, the pupils of the cat's eyes. The white fur sets off the eyes beautifully. The rest is various shades of grey.

I've been looking at your edited picture, and I think you're right - it probably would make a better print. You did a good job of editing. But I do not find the spots on the original unattractive - they tell me it was a rainy day, the edited photo is more "bland" in a way.

Anyway. I don't really have a suggestion for improvement, so I guess I'll say - "Keep up the good work". Take care,

Ursula (uabresch)

Very nice! White is hard to get detail, but you managed it very well! The cat's expression matches up with your title very well. 9 Rob the Swash

One of my favorites of this challenge. I think is't the eyes and the off center composition that I like.

Reminds me of the Flintstones cat, not too happy about being left out. Doesn't quite have the awww poor kitty look, more like the how can I put the master of the house out look.

Very nice. I really like the contrast, dof, and overall composition of this shot. Not the typical pet shot. 7

By far the best title in the challenge. This one really made me laugh. I have 5 cats, so I know how you feel. Only one goes outside at all though. But I swear they think they own the place. I like the way you framed this and that the mouth isn't showing all the way. Good job with the DOF and the picture is crystal clear. Nice work

By tieing the cat to the frame of the window you have met the challenge. Nie sharp image and good use of light. 7

This is one of the only photos I've ever thought "hmm, this would look nice with a border on it." But that's what I thought, so that's what I'm telling you. :) I like the expressiveness in the cat's face! A very nice photo overall!
